Quality Management Unit Working System

In 2005, the Ministry of Health made a new rule. This rule is about better health
services. It wants good and fast service in hospitals. The goal is to measure and
compare hospital services.
The Ministry of Health also made another rule. This rule is about safety. Patient and
worker safety is very important. The rule also wants to listen to patients and workers.
Good work is rewarded. The goal is better health service.
Our hospital follows these rules carefully. We started on the first day. These rules are
part of the Health Transformation Project.
The Ministry of Health checks hospitals often. Our hospital gets better each time.
Managers and workers work together. Every day, we give better service than before.
Quality Management Unit
The Quality Management Unit works to make health and education services better in
our hospital. It helps plan the work, prepare documents, and follow the steps of each
job. It checks if things are going well and fixes problems when needed. The unit also
sets goals to make the hospital safer and better and checks if these goals are met.
The unit listens to patients, their families, and workers. Their ideas and suggestions
are very important. The unit uses these ideas to improve hospital services.
Keeping patients and workers safe is the most important thing in our hospital. Every
change or rule in the hospital always thinks about safety. The unit helps groups and
teams that work on safety. It also checks if problems are fixed and if safety actions
work well.
The unit also helps with hospital computers and technology. It plans and checks these
systems.
Our hospital wants to be the best hospital in the country. The Quality Unit works to
reach this goal. It collects information and checks if the hospital is working well.
Meetings are held to talk about results and make things better.
The hospital started quality work in the year 2000. Documents are updated often to
match new rules and needs.
From the beginning, the hospital has planned training for workers to learn about
quality. The unit also gives training about communication, management, performance,
and other important topics. There are also trainings for new workers and other job-
related lessons. The unit gives help with documents and planning when needed.
In January 2010, our hospital had a big meeting called the “Patient and Worker Safety
Symposium” for the hospital’s 50th year. About 700 people from all over Turkey
came. Since then, we hold a program called “Samatya Days” every year. In 2011, we

had another meeting about “Environment Management in Health Services” with 450
people.
Our goal is to give high-quality health services and teach medical professionals with
new knowledge and care for people.
